Team Building Events

By design, my job as an art therapist has a lot of variety. I’m not a 9:00-5:00, sitting behind a desk kind of gal. Of all the work I do, one of my favorites is working with businesses and other teams to help them discover more about who they are and the different skills each member brings to the team to move their work forward.

Since I entered the workforce as a teenager, I have always been involved with businesses….usually small businesses and nonprofits.

As a leader in many of these businesses, I was tasked with assigning work to my employees. Discovering their passions and strengths and assigning work accordingly has been essential to developing a harmonious workspace and successful business where the employees are happy and fulfilled.

Bringing the creative arts into a traditional workspace helps people to think in different ways and also introduces a playfulness many adults have left behind many years ago.

Participants in my workshops often gleefully exclaim “This is so fun! I haven’t taken time to make art since I was a kid!”

Two workshop I often do with teams are my SoulCollage© workshop and my Repairing the Broken Tile ( a modified version of my Repairing the Broken Bowl.) Both workshops can me tailored to suit the needs of your team.

SoulCollage© offers individual an opportunity to look at different parts of themselves and celebrate their unique strengths.

We’re all trained to do specific jobs at work but beyond that, we bring other innate skills to our team which can help the team perform better or in come cases, need to be checked so they don’t hinder the teams functionality. Exporing these parts through SoulCollage© is both fun and insightful.

Repairing the Broken Tile is a great workshop for a team that might be going through a hard time.

Perhaps a long time employee has left or the way things have always worked isn’t working and their need to be a change. Repairing the Broken Tile celebrates brokeness and change and helps teams to see the growth possibilities when things fall apart. In my 40 years involved in businesses, I have seen that these moments of rupture often lead to greater things, as hard as they are to go through.

If neither of these workshops seem like the right fit for your business, I’d be happy to customize an arts-based workshop to fit your needs. Just reach out and we can explore the possibilities!
